Bathurst High Campus as a part of Denison College has a rich curriculum full of opportunity. In the senior years students can access courses on both campuses and at Bathurst TAFE. The full curriculum offerings for 2010 are in the attached pdf file.

Academic Extension Class

In Year 7 and 8 one class in Maths, English, Science and HSIE is designated as an academic extension class. Placement in this class is through a specific identification process. Teachers on this class volunteer for specific training in extending talented students. Ask about this at the enrolment interview.

Year 7 and 8 Intensive Support Classes

In the core areas of Maths, English, Science and HSIE some classes have extra literacy and numeracy support in order to assist students to catch up. These classes are smaller than other mainstream classes in these areas and have extra assistance available for students via Support Teacher Learning intervention. Ask about this at the enrolment interview.

Year 7 and 8 Specialist Classes

Students in Years 7 and 8 participatein Technology Mandatory. They also have a specialist subject in Dance and Drama in Year 7 as well as Music and Visual Arts in Years 7 and 8.
All students do a mandatory Language other than English - Japanese in Year 8. This language is usually available through to Year 12.

Year 9 and 10 Elective Lines

Students in Years 9 and 10 can choose from a large list of eclectives. This list varies from year to year but the current offerings can be found in the current "Curriculum at a Glance" document. Students in Year 9 choose three 100 hour electives. In Year 10 the students must continue at least one of these electives to make it a 200 hour course. They can choose to continue one other elective from year 9 or rechoose a different 100 hour elective. Ask at enrolment for further explanation.
